My head is aching, I need to visit the Internet.

A recent research made by Simplyheakth found that almost 50% of people believe that the way they seek information related to health has changed during the last ten years. In fact, Britons are more and more thinking that information to be found on the Internet is reliable. When they suffer from pain, from a physical disease, they prefer looking for some information on the Internet, rather than calling their personal doctor..
.
In a world where people are trying to grab information as fast as possible, in a world where everyone seem to be in a hurry, this survey demonstrates a growing trend to use the internet in a purpose to find health information and advice in order to engage conversations on this particular topic.  In France, a forum called "Doctissimo" has a lot of users, who always worry about their health and try to find rapid help thanks to their peers.
Nevertheless, there is the burning issue of information's reliability. How being sure that this information is true ? How being sure that non-professionals, people like you and me, have a lot of knowledge in medicine ? In my opinion, there is a growing risk of thinking that ALL problems can be solved thanks to the Internet.  Because people can be accustomed to this practice and then utterly forget going to their doctor. And just because another person has same symptoms as yours does not necessarily mean that this person is right.

It can be hard to believe that there are 450 million active internet users online globally, but it has become the synonym of present. So how much do you use your Internet connection? You are likely to use it with good reason as it is an easy way to help you get information more quickly and efficiently than ever. Nevertheless, there is a risk of being naive in using it. Many people still spend quite a lot of time online, just because they are sick. Go to the doctor !
